Krystel Khoury is an anthropologist of dance (PhD – University of Clermont-Ferrand) and a cultural manager. She first trained as a dancer then majored in Performing Arts theories (MA. University Lumière Lyon II). She researches contemporary dance creative processes based on empirical fieldworks with artists (including one with well-know choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui), transmission as well as inter-cultural politics. She is involved in many local and transnational collaborative cultural artistic projects, in Europe and the Middle East as an initiator, collaborator or dance expert. Krystel is a facilitator and a listener. Her artistic sensibility, understanding and knowledge of dance and arts as well as her conviction in the richness of human encounters makes her keep on wanting to weave connections between individuals and their cultures thus always questioning the relevance of borders, whether geographically, embodied or intangibly. Lately, she was appointed as programme manager at the Roberto Cimetta Fund for euro-arab artistic mobility and exchange.
